You Melt My Heart Gift Card Snow Globe
You’ll need a glass jar, large candle in a glass jar, glitter, ribbon, bows or other decorations for the outside, stove, cooking skillet, mailing envelope or other thick foldable paper, and oven mitt.
Fill the skillet about half way full with water. Place the candle in the water and turn the stove to medium-low heat. You want the water around the jar hot enough to melt the candle wax, but not boiling. The wax at the bottom of the jar will melt, but the top won’t get hot enough, so you’ll need to push the top of the wax down periodically. This will force the hot wax up through a hole, so don’t use your finger. I used the handle of a wooden spoon and scraped the wax off later.
Once the wax is completely melted, place the empty glass jar on the stove top and pour a thick layer of wax into the bottom of the jar for a base. If you’ve kept the water from boiling, you can touch the top of the jar with your fingers and use the oven mitt to tilt the jar. Once your base is poured, return the candle to the stove and wait for the wax in your snow globe jar to dry completely.
Once dry, pour a thin layer of candle wax onto the base. Immediately place the gift card into the wax and secure it at the desired angle by folding the envelope over the rim so that the gift card rests against it.
Sprinkle glitter on the top of the wax as it cools. This will create a shimmering effect on the surface that won’t cause a mess when your recipient opens the jar. Include a bow and hand written message to let your loved one know how special they are in your eyes. We tried adding a glowstick to the top of the jar, but didn’t have one strong enough to produce much effect. If you’ve tried this with more success, please share it with us on our

Romantic Wrapping for an E-Gift Card
E-gift cards are great last minute gifts. You can give a spa gift card to a loved one for some much appreciated pampering or a Sephora gift card to let Her pick the right brands and shades for her color pallet. Print one off, roll it up, and slide it into a balloon. Blow up some extra balloons to make a large arrangement, then write on the balloons with a permanent marker. Write what you love about her. Is it her laugh, that she follows your favorite sports teams, or the way she gets along with your family? Share your favorite highlights from over your relationship.
